Beyond translation

Transcreation (Translation with creative adaptation)

When dealing with web pages, banners, brochures and leaflets, but also posters, slogans and radio and television commercials, often translation is not enough. For the translated text to have the same impact as the original language, it is necessary to rewrite the text, making it different from the original version, with an operation that is halfway between translation in the strict sense and copywriting.
Usually, transcreation is used for marketing, promotional or advertising content, and has the objective of creating the same impact in the target language as the message of the original language.

Editing and proofreading

Every translation is checked by a highly qualified team to make sure it is suitable for the target market. The text is also proofread again by a language editor to improve the quality and linguistic style of the document.
The following elements are taken into account to ensure quality and precision: terminology, grammar, syntax, spelling, inconsistencies as well as graphic and stylistic aspects, also ensuring adaptation and/or reduction of the text required by structure, localization or graphics.
This proofreading service, intended specifically for the publishing sector, is also of interest to enterprises that understand the vital importance of presenting an error-free text in communications. Editing and proofreading services are also available for texts which have already been completely or partially translated.

Assisted translation

Many texts contain repetitions, which is why the use of Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) systems and the related translation memories (TM) offer clear advantages:

  • they allow us to use sentences already translated in previous projects: in the case of updates, the translator can review this information, change it or accept it
  • thanks to translation memories and terminology databases, we can divide the work among several translators, maintaining syntactic and linguistic uniformity, especially in the case of medium-large texts
  • they make it possible to standardize any terminology chosen by the customer and use it for all the documentation, especially for jobs subject to periodic updates
  • they allow us to continually update the memory (TM), so as to gradually expand it over time
  • they allow us, in certain situations, to maintain the formatting of the original document, reducing processing time in the subsequent DTP phase (especially in the publishing sector)

A further advantage of assisted translation is to save money and time. You will only pay for the texts to be translated, resulting in reduced costs and delivery times.

Quality control

One of our main goals is to deliver work of excellent quality while meeting deadlines and budget requirements. In order to guarantee a constantly uniform quality standard, no longer entrusted solely to the expertise of individual translators, we have developed a system based on systematic control of each document to be translated or in progress.

This system is the result of the effective sharing of individual and team responsibilities and is based on clearly defined procedures and multiple stages in the quality control process, drawing on the human skills essential for quality management. This approach allows us to achieve a high level of quality in conformity with the customer's expectations.

Page layout

DTP department. Regardless of the complexity of the page layout, using the main industry software applications (Adobe Indesign, QuarkXPress, Illustrator, Photoshop) and a first-class hardware infrastructure, we can deliver final documents laid out in the target language, fully compliant with the original.
